United Scarborough Initiative Launches Its First “Future Funders” Financial Literacy Program for Youth

We’re excited to share that United Scarborough Initiative recently hosted the very first session of our Future Funders program — an engaging and empowering financial literacy initiative designed specifically for children and youth.

Aimed at students ages 7 to 14, Future Funders introduces young learners to the essential building blocks of financial understanding. Through interactive lessons and age-appropriate activities, participants explore key topics such as:

  • The importance of saving and budgeting
  • Understanding needs vs. wants
  • How money is earned and managed
  • The basics of banking and interest
  • Responsible spending habits
  • Introduction to entrepreneurship and goal-setting

Our mission with Future Funders is to equip the next generation with the knowledge and confidence they need to make smart financial decisions — both now and in the future. This foundational program is part of USI’s commitment to holistic youth development, preparing students not just academically or athletically, but also for real-world success.

Stay tuned for upcoming sessions and new resources as we continue to grow this initiative and empower our community’s future leaders!
